Although I dislike the confederate flag as well, it does have quite a different meaning than the Nazi flag. The confederates just wanted to be left alone from the union (keeping slaves was part of it, yes), the Nazis wanted to rid the world of the Jews and take over the world at the same time...

Have you ever seen a Polish plate?

Old (pre EU) design above, (almost) current design below. The only thing that's changed on the white plates is the flag. The Polish flag has been replaced with an EU flag.

Well it sounds pretty capitalistic as well. I mean think of all the industry the south had going for it at the time and how much they could expand if they took more tropical countries. The north knew the economy would tank if they left.

Sounds like they did have quite a few batshit leaders though. Looks like they wanted to just continue the old ways, like how we took California and Texas from Mexico.

That was a fascinating article thanks for sharing it.

I'm a huge American History buff and didn't know about this. It's probably because of my hatred of the confederacy that made me neglect my studies into it's history. There's no way they would have been able to succeed in all these imperialistic moves though due to their terrible lack of resources. Though I'm sure I don't have to tell you that, you seem even more versed in American history than myself!

The world would look very differently upon our country today if the south had won that war. If only I could get them to ditch the damn treasonous flag. It drives me insane when people up north use it.
